#Workshops: Four Days of Western, Blues & Campfire Guitar at Kohlröslhütte in 2027

In July 2027, the workshop “In die Berg slide i gern” will bring the blues to the mountains at an altitude of 1,534 metres above sea level.

On each workshop Monday, participants will begin their journey with the Weissensee chairlift, followed by a hike via the Naggler Alm. Those who tackle the Geißrücken ridge will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Gitschtal Valley along the way.

The destination is Kohlröslhütte, a mountain lodge overlooking Lake Weissensee that offers not only traditional Carinthian cuisine but also spectacular views of the surrounding alpine landscape.

The four-day workshop is aimed at both beginners and advanced guitarists. While newcomers can learn how to accompany hiking, campfire and pop songs, more experienced players may explore blues, slide guitar, Travis picking, pentatonic scales and related techniques.

No music-reading skills are required. Instead, the focus is placed on enjoying the instrument, making music together and spending several inspiring days among the peaks of the Gailtal Alps.

There is even a historical connection between the hut and the guitar. In the Jägerstube hangs a portrait of old Arrich holding a guitar. Remarkably, the instrument still exists today and remains fully playable. It is difficult to imagine a better omen for a guitar workshop in the mountains.
